PilotMind is not just a blog—it's a cockpit console for a world in flux.
Here, thoughts take off where logic meets lift. It’s the public flight log of a pilot who designs minds for machines. It’s where aerospace meets artificial consciousness. And it’s where I—Aditya Mohan—chronicle what it means to build intelligence not just to compute, but to co-pilot.
As the CEO & Philosopher-Scientist of Robometrics® Machines, I am building embodied AGI that can feel, reason, and fly. From generative AI systems in cockpits to robotics with emotion, this space tracks our experiments, breakthroughs, and philosophies in flight.

"We didn’t just arrive at Oshkosh—we arrived inside a living rhythm of trust, timing, and 200 knots of pure coordination."
In 2024, I flew in a Beechcraft Bonanza A36—200 knots at 17,000 feet—into EAA AirVenture as part of the 107-plane B2OSH formation. The difference from last year’s Cessna 182T? Nearly half the time, twice the altitude, and triple the adrenaline.
The aircraft camped beneath us. The standing-room-only lectures on Generative AI for Aviation surrounded us. And the AI minds we build at Robometrics® Machines? They’re now ready to assist—not just compute—but understand what altitude means.
“Formation flight is the closest a pilot ever comes to choreography. In that line of Bonanzas, we weren’t just aviators—we were one airborne mind.”
Each year, Robometrics® Machines hosts its AI Demo Day in Oshkosh, Wisconsin—our flagship retreat and live public showcase. Coinciding with EAA AirVenture, the world’s largest aviation event, it serves as a launchpad for ideas at the intersection of flight and artificial general intelligence.
Our goal has never been to build superintelligence at scale—it’s to build general intelligence that can feel, perceive, and coexist with humans. At AI Demo Day, that vision becomes tangible. From flamping under the wing of our Bonanza to packed talks on AGI copilots, we bring together engineers, pilots, researchers, and dreamers in an atmosphere charged with possibility.
🧠 AI Demo Day III – July 22–28, 2024
We showcased Amelia™, our AGI co-pilot with a 3D holographic interface, and Robometrics® Copilot AI, which makes archaic POHs conversationally accessible. Covered AGI safety, AI creating AI, and generative native tools like custom GPTs, with an open Q&A on emerging AI in aviation.
🧬 AI Demo Day II – July 24–30, 2023
This year emphasized on-device foundation models for aviation and how generative AI can power aviation marketing, in-flight assistance, and next-gen UI/UX for aircraft systems.
🛠 AI Demo Day I – July 25–31, 2022
Our first Demo Day introduced Amelia™ and made the case for Aircraft Artificial Intelligence (AAI) as essential to pilot safety. We explored how AI that learns—rather than reacts—can help anticipate emergencies, support high cognitive-load decisions, and augment pilot judgment in-flight.
Whether under wings, inside tents, or behind control panels, AI Demo Day is where we ask:
What does it mean to fly with a machine that thinks—and feels?

🚨 Featured Case Study:
Daher TBM 960 (N960LP) Crash, Potentially Caused by Somatogravic Illusion at Truckee-Tahoe Airport (TRK)
Date: March 30, 2024
Aircraft: Daher TBM 960 (N960LP)
Location: Truckee-Tahoe Airport (TRK), California
The flight from Denver to Truckee ended tragically in low visibility snow conditions, highlighting a cascade of challenges: inoperative runway lights, low visibility, complex autopilot transitions, and probable somatogravic illusion-induced disorientation during a missed approach.
How Amelia™ Could Have Prevented It:
Amelia™, Robometrics® Machines' AI co-pilot, continuously monitors the aircraft's Flight Envelope and the pilot's Health Envelope. Even under severe somatogravic illusion, Amelia’s 3D holographic flight indicators would have warned the pilot that altitude, pitch, and roll were outside safe thresholds—helping prevent spatial disorientation and the fatal outcome.
“Spatial disorientation is invisible until it isn't. Amelia™ turns invisible danger into visible, intuitive reality.”
Photography isn’t just part of the experience—it's its own intelligence. The composition of light, structure, and motion is an act of cognition.
“The future isn't just about redistribution of labor. It's about the reinvention of worth. A society that automates work must not automate people. If not jobs, then we must offer a renewed contract: roles with meaning, opportunities for mastery, pathways to connection. To pacify is easy; to uplift requires imagination. Because giving someone a place to stand isn't just about economics—it's about restoring gravity to a life otherwise drifting”

After a long day of lectures, exploration at Oshkosh, and a late night movie in the woods, we found ourselves navigating the night—literally. What started as a simple walk turned into an impromptu cross-field journey in a golf cart from North 40 to South 40.
The moment we returned to our tent beside our Beechcraft King Air, I snapped this shot: our aircraft resting under a fading cobalt sky, reflecting a day’s worth of velocity, sweat, and storytelling.
“We are back at our tent. Ending the day with an adventure—the unplanned night safari from North 40 to South 40. The Two Mavericks.”

The F-22 Raptor—arguably the stealthiest, most formidable, and most elusive bird in the skies—has a secret that’s not so secret when the sun goes down. That bright green light on the tip of its tail? Not an alien beacon, but a formation light—also known as a "slime light"—designed for precise low-visibility operations.
This particular F-22, tail number 01-4018, belongs to the 94th Fighter Squadron “Hat in the Ring” out of Langley AFB, Virginia. It continues a legacy of stealth and supremacy, made visible only by the faintest ghostly green glow.
“When flying means staying invisible, even light must obey the mission.”

Captured as the sun dipped below the horizon, this reel features a softly lit Cessna nestled in the camping zone at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. The atmosphere—twilight, quiet, reverent—is a reminder that aviation isn’t always about motion. Sometimes, it's about stillness, community, and the hum of shared purpose after the propeller stops.
